Honoring America’s Veterans Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony is a solemn event, but we also want to incorporate elements that honor the unique location and culture of the attack. This year Honoring America’s Veterans will host an Aloha Attire Contest, a fun and respectful way to acknowledge the ‘Aloha Spirit’ of the islands and add a vibrant, celebratory note to the day.

For the contest, Honoring America’s Veterans encourage guests to wear attire that is festive, respectful and embodies the spirit of aloha. Attire can be traditionally colorful, tropical or floral print clothing. The key is to show the aloha spirit and be respectful of the commemorative nature of the event.
Judges will be looking for attendees who best capture the authentic aloha spirit and Hawaiian style. We’ll be looking for authentic prints, thoughtful accessories and overall presentation. A prize will be awarded to the most spirited individual.
To enter, simply wear your best aloha attire to the ceremony at Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza. Be sure to be present near the main stage before the program officially begins to be noticed by our judges. We want everyone to participate and to bring a wonderful burst of color and island tradition to the plaza.
