Give Stock or Securities—A Smart Way to Give.
If you own appreciated stock, donating directly to HAV can maximize your impact and offer tax benefits. Transferring stock instead of selling it means you avoid capital gains taxes and may receive a charitable tax deduction. Many donors find this a meaningful and strategic way to give. Contact us for our Depository Trust Company (DTC) number so we can facilitate your gift.
Use Your IRA to Make a Gift
If you’re 73 or older, you can use all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from your IRA up to $108,000 to support Honoring America’s Veterans through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), reducing your taxable income. Every IRA custodian has a different process, so ask yours how to make this gift.
Other ways your IRA can support HAV:
- Leave a lasting contribution – Designate HAV as a beneficiary of your IRA, ensuring your support continues beyond your lifetime.
- Create an income stream – In 2025, use a one-time $54,000 IRA distribution to fund a Charitable Gift Annuity and receive income for life. If you are married and your spouse has a traditional IRA, you can each contribute $54,000 to the Charitable Gift Annuity.
Make a Gift from Your Donor Advised Fund (DAF)
If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to HAV. We are a qualified charitable organization and are happy to provide any information your DAF sponsor requires. Contact us here
